Cal Poly Distance Club

We are a group of student athletes commited to both academic endeavors as well as running during our short time here at Cal Poly.

Where to find us

Cal Poly Distance club is open to anyone who wants to run. Whether you are looking to compete, or you are just looking for a group of running buddies CPDC is the place for you.

We meet Monday through Friday at 4:10 PM near the 50M mark on the track. Feel free to swing by, check us out, and meet some great people!

CPDC is one of the top teams in NIRCA. We travel up and down the west coast of California in order to fit as many races as we can during the seasons.

Our daily practices are more like sweet hangouts, while running. But, we do things besides running too! Come check out our IM flag football team, toss a frisbee around with us, come camping, or hang out at our movie nights.

CPDC is dedicated to making the city and county of San Luis Obispo a better place. We love volunteering at local events like the trail maintenance days out at MontaƱa De Oro, and the SLO City Marathon.

I'm a fourth year business major with a concentration in entrepreneurship. I hail from Rocklin, CA and was a four-year varsity athlete at Whitney High School. I competed in my first race in 5th grade while wearing basketball shoes and have been hooked since. I have since upgraded my shoes and am beginning my third year as a Distance Club member. I love the training, the people, and the community that running has to offer. Big fan of good times and there are lots of those with running here. I've got Western States 100 on my bucketlist and enjoy a good burrito. Those are two things about myself that I would say sum me up decently well. Hit me up any time if you have any questions or want to chat!

I'm a third year Industrial Engineering student hailing from the great PNW city of Bellingham, WA. I got hooked on running while racing with the amazing boys team at Sehome High School, running on two XC state title-winning teams. Now at Cal Poly I've dabbled in XC, track, 1/2 marathons and even a 50k; any and every distance is a blast. I am so excited for another year spent running and hanging out with the incredible people of CPDC! Please don't hesitate to call or email me with questions, as your VP I am always happy to talk!

I am a fourth year biochemistry major. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, shopping, cooking, and traveling (I studied abroad in Thailand). I am involved with organic chemistry research here at Cal Poly, along with the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma. I hope to pursue a career in the medical field after I graduate.

Hello everyone! I'm a second year Nutrition Science major from the small town of Hollister, California. I began running in middle school after trying (and failing) nearly every other sport. Eventually, I went on to run varsity all four years of high school while leading my team to numerous league championship titles. My hobbies include reading, biking, cooking healthy food, baking unhealthy desserts, and dancing.

I come from the Dirty Desert (Indio, CA) and when not running, I enjoy rapping, writing poetry, and spending time outdoors with friends and fam! I also like traveling and I speak a few different languages (although some more fluently than others). I am also scared of the steeplechase. I hope to continue to improve as an athlete with CPDC! Bless up

I'm a junior studying architecture. I identify as an athlete, artist, friend, and thinker. My favorite part about running with distance club is the chance to run around SLO with people who enjoy it just as much as I do and who constantly push me to improve.

I've competed in gymnastics and fencing and didn't start running until my junior year of high school. I have competed in 15 different track events including high jump and pole vault. Outside of running I enjoy reading and baking as well as designing and building furniture.
